Ukrainian military using ISIS-style attack drones in Donbass | October 1st 2018

The LPR militia shot down an assault unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the DJI "Phantom-4" (made in the USA) The drone was engaged in air reconnaissance, and also carried a mini-bomb - a grenade on a special bracket.

This was reported in Lugansk by the official representative of the People’s Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko.

"The incident occurred near the village of Nizhnee Lozovoe, 65 km west of Lugansk and 2 km south of the contact line. The drone flew from the north-west at an altitude of about 300 meters," he said

It's not the first time the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) used armed drones against Donbass forces. It is not accurate and is more likely to be a danger to residents of front-line villages than soldiers who move as secretly as possible.

Marochko said that eyewitnesses observed that "an F-1 grenade separated from the drone in the air when it was already hit and was falling, which then exploded near the site of its fall."

According to the LPR intelligence, the drone was purchased on July 7th, 2018 in the United States and in the middle of August it was delivered to the 72nd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
