The Russian Air Force sent a powerful message to the Turkish-backed militants in northern Syria on Monday, October 26th 2020, when their warplanes destroyed an entire training camp in the Idlib Governorate.
According to a field source in neighboring Latakia, the Russian Air Force heavily targeted a training camp belonging to a Turkish-backed militant group near the city of Salqin in northern Idlib
The Russian Air Force airstrike on the headquarters of the militant faction "Faylaq al-Sham" (part of NFO / SNA) near the border with Turkey, resulted, according to Syrian "opposition" sources, in about 80 killed and 140 injured. Some put the death toll over 100
This is a clear signal to Turkey and shows serious differences between Moscow and Ankara.
"Faylaq al-Sham" is currently the most influential group of the "moderate opposition", whose representatives are included in the leadership of the "National Liberation Front" (NLF) / Syrian National Army(SNA) (both Turkey-funded coalitions of militant factions).
Earlier, the Russian Air Force refrained from striking the "Faylaq al-Sham" bases deep inside Idlib province, even during periods of open military campaigns.
