Indian military eliminated a leader of the "Hizb-ul-Mujahidin" | May 6th, 2020





On May 6th, the Indian army and police launched an operation in the border with Pakistan on the territory of Jammu and Kashmir region to capture one of the leaders of the "Hizb-ul-Mujahidin" terrorist organization Riyaz Naykoo As a result, the leader of the terrorists was discovered and eliminated.


The Hizbul Mujahideen group's commander Riyaz Naikoo and three other rebels were killed on Wednesday in southern Kashmir's Pulwama district, leading to massive clashes in several places.

Naikoo, 35, was the chief of operations of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, the disputed region's largest rebel group, which has spearheaded an armed rebellion against the Indian rule.


Jammu and Kashmir was a region formerly administered by India as a state from 1954 to 2019, constituting the southern and southeastern portion of the larger Kashmir region, which has been the subject of a dispute between India, Pakistan and China since the mid-20th century.
