In the province of Aleppo in Syria, land clearance is currently underway. The sappers are carefully prepared for work and act incredibly well-trained and professional because a mine does not forgive mistakes.
Before work, an instrument test is carried out - probably the most important element of preparation. The life of a sapper depends on it. The earth here is literally packed with metal - fragments of armor, mortar tails, unexploded ordnance, improvised explosive devices, and anti-personnel mines. Sometimes it takes an hour for the sapper to move just a couple of steps. Every fragment, every mortar tail must be dug up to make sure - this piece of iron is not dangerous.
