On Monday, February 25th 2019, the jihadistsof Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (also known as al-Nusra) launched a deadly guided missile strike that resulted in a large number of casualties within the ranks of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), according to a source near the Abu Dhuhour axis
According to the military source, the jihadists fired a U.S.-made TOW missile towards a gathering of Syrian Army soldiers in the western countryside of Abu Dhuhour, near the town of Al-Sukkariyeh.
The source said the anti-tank guided missile managed to hit its intended target, killing and wounding over 25 Syrian Arab Army soldiers.
He said that seven soldiers were confirmed dead and 22 others were hospitalized as a result of their wounds sustained from the jihadist attack.
The source would add that the Syrian Arab Army has been launching retaliatory attacks across southern Idlib in response to the jihadist missile strike.
The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) is reportedly preparing to launch airstrikes as well.
